About our Roots: The people who started it all
Gary Fears is the President and co-owner of Green Summit Landscape Management. Fears specifically oversees New Business Development and Customer Service. His passion for landscaping began at the age of eleven, when his father dropped him off at the end of a street with a lawn mower. He would move from house to house, offering lawncare to his first customers. Everyone has grass in Kentucky where Fears grew up. This middle school summer job has since blossomed into a professional career in the landscaping industry.
Fears has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a minor in Landscape Management from Brigham Young University. He is also Landscape Industry Certified through the National Association of Landscape Professionals and holds a JS Sprinkler License and NMDA Pesticide License. In 2008, Fears moved to Albuquerque after being recruited by an industry leading landscape company.
Seven years later, he established his own business with the help of his partners, and Green Summit continues to grow and service the community in the greater Albuquerque area. After many years of living in New Mexico with his wife and four children, he is proud to call the Land of Enchantment his home.
Daniel Reeves is the CEO and co-owner of Green Summit Landscape Management. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Management. He is also a licensed applicator with the New Mexico Department of Agriculture. Reeves has 15 years of experience in the landscaping industry.
He made the decision to open his own company because he felt he had developed a better way to serve landscaping employees and ultimately, the community of Albuquerque. When the time was right, after saving his money and finding the perfect people to partner with, he made his dream a reality and opened Green Summit.
Reeves loves the landscaping business almost as much as he loves his wife, two daughters, and two sons.
Rigoberto Zavala is the COO and co-owner of Green Summit Landscape Management. He is originally from Mexico and moved to California when he was 19-years-old. After working the vineyards of Napa Valley for several years, he decided to move to Albuquerque to be closer to family
Shortly after arriving in New Mexico, Rigo started working with his brothers as a landscape professional. Rigo quickly became passionate about beautifying the environment and has remained in the industry for the last 20 years. Over the last two decades, Rigo has developed into an industry leader of landscape maintenance in New Mexico. Through study and hard work has compiled a vast knowledge of maintenance practices for trees, shrubs, and turf grass. Now he proudly helps run his own landscaping company. Aside from decades of experience and hard work, his professional qualifications include a JS6 Irrigation license and a pesticide spray applicators license.
Outside of work, Rigo enjoys soccer, regular trips to Mexico, and spending time with his wife and three sons.
